Description

A quick and creamy beef stroganoff with ground beef made with ground beef, mushrooms, and a rich sour cream sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights, this dish comes together in just 30 minutes and is loaded with flavor.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 tbsp olive oil

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

8 oz mushrooms, sliced

1 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 cup beef broth

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Dijon mustard

½ cup sour cream

1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

½ tsp black pepper

8 ounces of egg noodles (or any other type of pasta)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1- Cook the Beef and Vegetables:

Heat the olive oil in a big skillet over medium heat. While the ground beef cooks, split it up with a spoon until it becomes brown. Drain excess fat if necessary.

When the onion is tender, add it and simmer it for three to four minutes. Then, add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms. After 5 more minutes of sautéing, the mushrooms should be soft.Step1-beef stroganoff with ground beef

2- Make the Sauce:

After adding the flour to the meat mixture, whisk everything together. This will help thicken the sauce.

Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly. Season with salt, pepper, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. The sauce should start to thicken after 5 to 7 minutes of simmering.Step2-beef stroganoff with ground beef

3- Finish the Sauce:

After taking the skillet off of the burner, mix in the sour cream. Mix well until the sauce is creamy and smooth.Step3-beef stroganoff with ground beef

4- Cook the Noodles:

While the sauce is simmering, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.Step4-beef stroganoff with ground beef

5- Combine and Serve:

Add the cooked noodles to the beef stroganoff sauce and toss until the noodles are well-coated. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, add a bit more flour or reduce the broth slightly.

If you prefer a tangier flavor, increase the amount of Dijon mustard by ½ teaspoon.
